EHBO – First Aid Assistance

EHBO course (first-aid course – post-accident ) – is a one-day training (8 hours) and is conducted by certified first aid instructors. All skills that are needed to ensure that participants are prepared to adequately provide First Aid are discussed, but above all practiced. The  course is aimed at people who want to be properly prepared to give First Aid.

After completing the EHBO training – a participant receives:

  • Red Cross Certificate “Basic EHBO training”
  • Red Cross Certificate “Reanimation”

Certificates are valid for 2 years.

The first aid course EHBO (Eerste Hulp Bij Ongelukken) is important for anyone who wants to be well prepared for first aid. After the  course you will learn how you can immediately take action in an emergency and how to proceed in order to give first aid before the arrival of qualified emergency services.

The material of the first aid course
During the interactive course, both the theory and the practice of providing first aid are discussed. Simulations of the situations in which first aid in a group of up to 15 people should be given are simulated. In addition, participants learn the rules of resuscitation using a reanimation doll. The course content and course are adapted to individual needs and carried out in consultation with the client.

After completing the training, the participant can:

  • put the victim in a safe position
  • assess the condition of the victim
  • Rresuscitate
  • use AED (heart defibrillator)
  • provide first aid in case of skin wounds, bleeding, burns

After completing the training, the participant can take action in the following cases:

  • Loss of consciousness
  • Injuries of bones, muscles and joints
  • choking
  • Injuries of the head and spine
  • Pain in the chest
  • Stroke
  • External wounds

Duration
The first aid course is a one-day course lasting 8 hours. After the course is completed, a first-aid resident’s certificate is issued.

Training is regularly organized in the VCA Talen training center.
